Charlotte Motor Speedway Parking and Other Information

Featuring the only all-concrete and four-lane drag strip, the Charlotte Motor Speedway is formerly named as Lowe's Motor Speedway. It was built in 1959 and now becomes the home track for NASCAR. Between Highway 29 and Bruton Smith Blvd, there is an area for parking. It is divided into a couple of lots that cater for different needs. Along Highway 29 located a number of parking spaces only for members of the Speedway Club. On the west of them and next to the Dirt Track, you can easily find a large parking place that is claimed to be free for daily parking.

Apart from that, three Non-Speedway Paid Parking lots are situated right on the northeast of the Charlotte Motor Speedway. And on the north of the Souvenirs & Displays, there is also a field, part of which has been reserved by the Victory Lane Club, for free daily parking.

For visitors coming from South, the most convenient parking lots count as the ones along Morehead Road. Free daily parking spaces can be found along Hudspeth Road while paid parking is also available with 20 dollars per car.

Parking lots located on the west of the Speedway include a Nursery Daily Parking field, Paddock Overflow Parking and Terrace Parking. Plus, VIP Parking lots and Diamond Tower Reserved Parking are placed here as well.

As for parking lots for persons with impairments, various options are offered by the Charlotte Motor Speedway. Free parking lots for disabilities can be found at Lots E, H and T. They are located next to Highway 29. Lot M situated off Morehead Road is one of paid options for the disabled. These who use wheelchairs can find lots at Permit/Reserved Handicap Parking which requires parking fees as well.

On event days, streets next to the Speedway always get congested. As a result, visitors are suggested to utilize public transportation. Otherwise, you might need one or more extra hours to get into the Speedway.

Public transportation options involve bus shuttles and trams. Three types of bus shuttles - Tom Johnson's Morehead Farms, Tome Johnson's Peninsula and Rock City Campgrounds - can transport visitors to and from a number of destinations. If you prefer tram service, there are a couple of trams stops placed throughout the facility. You can find stops easily at Gate 2, 3, 4, 7 or 8, 12 and 18, etc.
