Charlotte Trolley
Charlotte travel back when the city was still very young was made possible through trolleys. Charlotte trolleys started their operation back in May 18, 1891 and ended on March 14, 1938. It had made such a big contribution to the productivity and the economy of Charlotte as it transported the residents around Charlotte where people from all walks of life get to meet and interact regularly with no barrier per class.
Now, after so many years, you can once again see the Charlotte trolleys circulate along Charlotte's uptown up to Charlotte's Historical South End Street starting August 30, 1996. It was supposed to be just a trial run for 6 months to see how it goes but because of the number of riders, it continues to operate and cater the residents of Charlotte.
Travels in Charlotte trolley is by schedule and it operates only on weekends from 10 in the morning on Saturdays up to 5 PM and on Sundays it operates from 10:30 AM up to 5:30 PM. With such a history as the Charlotte trolley, you'd be surprised that the fare for travel is very low at $1.50 one-way and you can get a ride all you want for one day at just $4.50. That's a very small amount of money that can take you to your destinations in a very classy way.
