1. UNC - Charlotte Botanical Gardens & Sculpture Garden: It has been described as the MacMillan Greenhouse and the prime characteristic features of this garden include carnivorous plants, cactuses, orchids and rain forest, etc. The exact location of this garden is at University City Blvd at Charlotte.

2. McGill Rose Garden: It can be described as one of the rose gardens in Charlotte that appears slightly old fashioned in nature. There are almost 1,000 roses that are present in this garden and these have almost 230 varieties. The garden was first started in the year 1950. In the present scenario, a defined area of this garden has been designated to the All-American Rose Selections Public Garden.

Most of the zoos in Charlotte, NC are open throughout the year. The timing details of some zoos are given below:

1. North Carolina Zoo- The timing of this zoo is 9 am to 4 pm. The timing remains constant throughout the year accept for March 29 to October when it becomes 9 am to 5 pm.

2. Riverbanks Zoo- The timing of this zoo is 9 am to 5 pm. In spring/summer weekends it becomes 9 am to 6 pm.

3. Lazy 5 Ranch- The timing of this zoo is 9 am until 1 hour before sunset on Monday to Saturday. On Sunday it is 1 pm until 1 hour before sunset.
