The Charlotte Museum of History is one of the major tourist sites situated in 3500, Shamrock drive, Charlotte NC - 28215. The Charlotte Museum of History alongside Hezekiah Alexander Home Site comprises of several venues spread across eight acres of land towards East Charlotte. During 1975, the City of Charlotte in conjunction with Mint Museum renovated the building which was re-opened on 3rd July 1976 as Mint Museum of History.

The home site and museum was managed by Mint Museum during the time period from 1975 to 1987. Later in 1987, the administrative responsibility was transferred to Parks & Recreation Division of Charlotte city and then it was renamed as Charlotte Museum of History.
