1. The designation that is being used to describe the different local routes in various parts of the city: I-89
2. The designation that is being used to describe the various express routes is generally expressed using 'X'. Thus the various express routes fro the downtown to the different parks and ride lots are expressed as 40X-89X.
3. The designation that is being used to describe the circulator routes of North Mecklenburg is 90-99.
4. The community circulator routes are being expressed by the designation 200-299.
In total, there are 19 express routes and 56 local routes of CATS (Charlotte Area Transit system).
