Is there a highway which serves as link route between the Charlotte city and their suburbs
Yes, the North Carolina Highway 16 serves as link route between the Charlotte city and their suburbs. The NC 16 in fact is a one hundred and fifty mile NC state highway which is oriented towards the north-south. This highway connects Brookshire Freeway via central region of Charlotte, NC. In the Uptown Charlotte region, the NC 16 is separated between 2 one way streets namely: 3rd and 4th Street. At John Belk Freeway interchange, one can take a u turn to stay back on NC 16 route because there exist no entrance ramp here. Since, the 4th Street is one way that moves towards the Uptown and 3rd Street is one way which goes exactly opposite from here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interstate_77_in_North_Carolina
