
Students Guide to Queens University of Charlotte: Missions and History
Queens University is a private University affiliated to Presbyterian University of Charlotte. This University of North Carolina Charlotte which was established 150 years back was once a female educational Institution but later formed into Co-ed University. It was initially a seminary for girls and then it merged as college in 1912.

The name 'Queens' is taken at the request of Alumnae Association in respect to Presbyterian colleges, in the memory of Queen's museum and to honor Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg. In 1989 the College adopted Liberal Learning Program, an integral part of Liberal Arts in order to help the students develop stronger thinking skills and morality.

In same year it started International Experience Program to encourage students to participate in study tours, foreign internship, abroad study etc. McColl School of Business started in the year 1993 is one of the best business schools in nation. Internship and Career Development Program which started in the year 1996 is the most recognized internship Programs in the country. From 1980, University started its masters degree program.

In 2002 Queens College turned into Queens University of Charlotte and obtained Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing. By 2006 Queens owned 30 acre Myers Park campus, 65-acre Sports Complex and planned $15 million project to serve senior citizens and physically handicapped.
